Nairobi, Kenya // July 2027

Build Locally.
Contribute Globally.

Two days of Bitcoin development, open-source collaboration, and technical learning in Nairobi, Kenya.

The evolution

Same Mission. A Bigger Stage.

In 2027, we’re introducing the Btrust Developer Conference: a two-day gathering created for Bitcoin developers, designers, researchers, open-source contributors, and technical builders across Africa and beyond.

For this next chapter, we’re bringing the event back to Nairobi, where it all started. The city hosted the inaugural Btrust Developer Day in 2024, and in 2027, the event returns with a new name, an expanded two-day format, and more room for technical learning, open-source contribution, and collaboration.

Across two days, participants will take part in technical talks, hands-on workshops, project demonstrations, collaborative hacking sessions, and honest conversations about building the future of Bitcoin.

Whether you’re contributing to Bitcoin Core, building on Lightning, experimenting with ecash, improving wallet security, designing better onboarding experiences, or making your first open-source contribution, Btrust DevCon is for you.

Our Journey

Three Editions. Three Cities. One Growing Community

  • Nairobi city skyline with high-rise towers above the trees

    Nairobi, 2024

Our inaugural Btrust Developer Day brought together more than 250 developers, designers, creators, and open-source contributors. Builders from across Africa and the wider ecosystem joined the community for a day of technical learning and collaboration.

  • Oval glass office building beside a highway, with mountains behind, in Mauritius

    Quatre Bornes, 2025

The second edition moved to Mauritius as the official developer-focused precursor to the Africa Bitcoin Conference. The programme expanded through technical talks, contribution workshops, live demonstrations, and the Developer Connect Zone.

  • Aerial view of Nairobi high-rise buildings at golden hour

    Nairobi, 2027

For its next chapter, the event returns to the city where it all began. The third edition marks the transition from Btrust Developer Day to the Btrust Developer Conference, with two full days, greater technical depth, more opportunities to contribute, connect, build, and ship together.
